I have a Mr.SID that I need to doctor up. I need to know how/what kind of program is needed to open and edit part of the picture to delete some of what is in it. My goal is to make the edge of my SID file match up with the edge of what my shape file is.
I have ESRI Arc 9.2 and Adobe Photoshop 9 and that is all of the programs that I have....so I don't know how to modify the picture.
Do you have the actual MrSid viewer or just a .sid file? Reason being is that you can export the image out of MrSid viewer as an image file and your best bet would be to use Photoshop.
I don't think you can import or open a Mr.Sid in Photoshop. I will try it here though and let you know. I have been wrong many times before.
The only way that I can see what is going on right now with the file is to look at it in ArcCatalog/Arc Map. And the layer that is above my SID image has a border cut off and the SID image hangs over that other layer and looks like crap. that is why I was wanting to modify some of the SID image.
