I have used the Predator on both my 04 and 06 trucks and have been totally satisfied. If you check out the Diablosport website you will see that it is a simple thing to have a custom tune installed as well.

With my 04 the shift pressure was much higher with the installed tune than it is on my 06. I thought there was something amiss until I e-mailed Diablosport and they recommended going in and modifying the shift pressure. I have been bumping it up a bit at a time and it is working great.

I only wish that I could get 93 octane fuel so that I could use that tune. It is just not available here and driving 150 km to Edmonton or Calgary to get it is just not feasible. However, on the 91 octane setting I am more than happy with the performance. There is a Diablosport dealer here in Red Deer and eventually I am planning to put the truck on their dyno once I reinstall the original tires. I will let you know about the actual power increase when I do that.

For your information the current Diablosport software will allow you to select the stock tune and modify parameters like timing, shift pressure and shift rpm, the 87 octane package, the 91 octane package and the 93 octane package.

Also for your info I paid 550 bucks for my Predator about 2 years ago at an authorized dealer. It has been worth every penny in smiles to me. It has probably cost me an additional $1000 in gas over that time because instead of driving the way I used to I tend to have my foot in it a lot just for the pleasure of it.

BTW I have probably installed and uninstalled and modified my tunes close to 50 times, as well as downloading the new software for my 06 and I have never had ANY issues.

What I would do if I were you is buy the package and then just sell the headers on E-bay if it looks like too much hassle to install them. The factory "headers" are pretty good in IMHO.

Check my gallery for more info on my trucks. BTW what are you paying for premium fuel there right now? Ours has been coming down this past week, but is still over 1.20 a litre. I have lucked out and been managing to get 10 cent per litre off coupons for premium from a local radio station promotion so I'm actually paying less right now for premium than I would for regular. My truck also has the big (135 litre) tank so I don't have to fill up that often.

Filled up the Stang last night 103.4 91 octane. Last time I filled the truck was Saturday at 89.7 87 octane.

I used a Predator for a while on my 2006, I was actually pretty impressed with it. I liked the fact that a quick timing adjustment could be made to go from 91 to 89 octane, and the customer service response from Diablosport was very quick via email. I've emailed Edge questions and never even got the courtesy of a response! In the end I switched to a 'Bama tune SCT from Bob Jusnes Modified and realized that was the tuner for me! could really feel the power on the low end and the mileage steadily increased, you may want to consider that one also. Just my $.02...good luck!

ive seen it first hand and this made me swear by the dablo over anything. an 04 fx4 screw on 35 tires raced an 05 dodge quad hemi. the ford had cai, cat back, and diablo. the hemi had stock 20's , cai, cat back and superchips. you would figure the hemi is faster than the 5.4 but once again ford won the race. if i remember right he won by 1 or 2 lengths. that race there sold me on a diablo for my o4 fx4. both trucks were 4x4 too. im just lookin for the right deal on my diablo. I cant see paying 400 bucks for one. its well worth it but im not payin that much.

I whooped an 06 Dodge Ram Hemi with my 06 F150 5.4L.The Hemi has a K&N CAI and Magnaflow exhaust. My 06 F150 has a CAI and a Edge Evo on level 2.I was shocked at the results.I thought I would get whooped by the Hemi but it was the other way around.

Be aware that any programmer bought used has no warranty. The warranty covers the original buyer only. Also, any programmer, new or used, bought off eBay, is not covered under warranty (the tuner companies have cracked down on companies violating MAP policies).

Your absolutely right! I wish these tuner companies would price their products more appropiately, isn't it difficult to pay $400.00 for a tuner that advertises 15-25hp for a gasser yet it's 100hp or more on a diesel! and they are the same price? doesn't seem fair..I wonder how many they sell at those
prices? but you certainly bring up a valid point, you take a big chance buying used. Maybe one of our sponsers has a good deal going??

I finally got some 94 octane fuel yesterday when I was in Edmonton and switched over to the 93 octane tune. I would certainly run this all the time if I could get the fuel without driving 150 km one way!

I am going to try to get it on a dyno this week before the fuel runs out. I will publish the results if I do.
