I guess thats what you call it. I got my gauges in and my buddy wants to put a tee in the tranny line for the probe. He thinks it's more acurate.
I was just going to put it in the port on the drivers side like alot of you guys do.
What are your thoughts??
And does any one have a part number for the port side of the tranny instal? I just have the lines hooked up from the gauge, but no fitting.
Thanks in advance for any input. Ron
I was just reading today that the T in the line can read higher temps. The test port is the recommended location for the measurement with my install instructions.
IMPORTANT! The temps should be measured in the pressure port in the driver side of the transmission body. If you are measuring temps from a tee in the output line, temps will read about 30 degrees hotter than temps read from the pressure port.
Thanks for the input. I'll hook it up to the port on the tranny.
My gauge maxes out at 250 deg.
I'm sure a T in the line would make it read on the high end of that.
I need to get the part that goes from the lines to the tranny. Any one know what it's called?

Where'd you get your gauges? Mine came with the correct fitting for the tranny's port. In fact, it was all one piece -- the sensor was simply screwed right in, and the wire attached right to it.
I traded work with this guy and he had the z series gauges on the shelf.
He did the instal.
He didn't have a T to put it in the line, and he's getting the part.
I have decided to instal it myself in the trannny port.
I need to get a hold of that part. Don't know what it's called.
He probably has it in his shop, but I don't want to debate him as to where the probe(?) should go.
His logic as to putting it in-line makes total sense to me. The gauge only goes to 250,though. Inline obviously would run higher.
So I'm putting it in the port like you all have suggested.
(thanks,by the way) Just need that port. probe. whatever you call it.(?)
