Really hard to say its difficult putting a price over the internet it looks to be in good shape but i would want to hear it drive it and all that and look it over maybe get it appraised by someone or something or kind of use your judgement what do you think its worth to you and how much have you sunk into it and do you want most of that money back..

My son has a red 77 for sale That he can't sell.

There is no rot, but a little rust.. He has been asking $4500..

It appears here in MA they want to pay $2500

We put in on Ebay and Craigslist and no one bought it.. It's Even on FTE and it hasn't sold.....

I think the problem is with the lift.. He has 6" suspension and 3" body..

I would recommend putting it back to stock. May sell faster.

Your son is asking too high for it.

Old trucks sell cheap in the northeast.

These trucks are never an investment. To put in perspective...

you payed $900 for the truck ( stock ) ... still $900
$1400 in wheels and tires ... now worth $1200
$325 lift ... say its still $325
$600 sound system ... say its still $600
$200 set of exhaust ... say its still $200
ALOT OF TIME ... Unfortuanatly is probably $0

That will add up to right around $3000

If I could get my money back out of my bronco, and if my time was worth $5/hour, that thing would be worth over $20,000, (and I would honestly sell it in a second) but the truth is, I couldn't sell it for a third of that.

I think your conclusion is a good one! hang onto it if it won't sell for what it is worth to you!

It's too bad you're not out west here... I've seen trucks in this condition pull upwards from 5.5k, even a few as high as 7.5k. They're extremely popular and sought after, as long as people don't have to go far to retreive them. On a personal note, if I'd come across yours when I was shopping for one I would have jumped all over it for 4k!

bigun72, I don't think you're wheels and tires are worth $1,400 any more. I'm sure you've driven them on the road at least once, you've put them in the mud, so the wheels aren't shinny like new, ect...
I paid about $1,200 for my wheels and tires, and only have about 150 miles(of road use)and 100(off road) on them, but I don't think I'd get $800 for them on ebay or somthing similar.

As for exhaust, I have $280 in headers and exhuast, but If I were to sell my bronco I don't think someone would be willing to pay full price for it, b/c they'd probably would want it different any way.

The only truck around these years that you can sell for a profit or even get your money back would be an Early Bronco.

Best thing to do would be to keep it.

Right now I do think the fuel prices are driving the some of the "non interests" in our older trucks. Who wants to pay a few thousand dollars for a gas hog or moreover, for a gas hog and old. Why are people trying to sell them....because they can't afford to drive them. Anyway, I'm not going to rant on fuel prices.

Your truck will always be worth more to you than to someone else. People look for good deals because they don't have to put the work into it and money. They would rather have someone else do it and then buy cheap. For older vehicles, it's a buyers market. Many people probably can't afford to wait very long so they let there vehicles go cheap. If you have a place to store it, keep it, for at least right now until your absolutely sure you want to get rid of it. Bad thing, you won't be able to get rid of it for what you want.
