1946/47 door locks

Hello.
Could someone post pictures of the passenger door lock from the outside and in the jamb, please?
I want to put a lock on mine but all that's there is the hole in the door, nothing in the jamb for me to see how it locks. It must have been welded over at some time in the past.
Also, since they originally came with just a passenger door lock, and I don't want to slide over I am wondering if a lock kit would fit on the driver's door. Anyone know?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Driver side door lock

Hi,

Bob Drake offers a kit for 1940's Coupes,Tu&Fordors + Sedan delivery.
I don't think they will fit our trucks, but maybe they can be made to fit?
Furthermore Bob Drake may have some in the make (development) for 40-47 trucks.
I suggest you contact them and keep us posted about the outcome,
I would also be interested to get one of these.

Good luck, Gabby.

Bob Drake's 40-47 Ford PU lockset will fit passenger side doors. The hole in the jamb end of the door is for access with an Allen wrench that tightens a set screw against the lock assembly when it is inserted into the hole in the passenger door. Just push it in untile it is flushe with the door and tighten with the set screw. The square part of the lockset goes through the lock assembly of the door handle assembly. Turning the key will either move a pin that blocks movement of the handle assembly, or unlocks it so it can move. This is should unlock the assembly, even if it has been locked from the inside by pushing the inside passenger door handle forward, otherwise it would be possible to lock yourself out of the cab permanently. This assembly is not set-up in the driver's side door, and so the lockset has no access hole to the outside, or in the jamb end of the door. The driver's side door was locked from inside and then the passenger's door locked from the outside. If inside, both doors can be locked by pushing the door handles forward, and unlocked by pulling them back into normal position.
