Everyone has always been real helpful on this site, and has saved me money from going to the dealer with quick fixes. So I want to say thanks!
I bought a used diablo chip, 1 bank. I did not get directions on installing it. The person I bought had a 01 f250 7.3 powerstorke, the same as mine. I know it plugs into the computer, and I believe I need to scrap off the coating on the connector of the computer. Is there anything else I need to know? And maybe what works best for getting that coating off the contacts?
Thanks!
I just used my fingernail to get a lot of it off, then used a ScotchBrite pad (you know, the green ones usually found in the kitchen??). Rub it until you just start to see a little copper on the ends. Don't scrub too much because the pads can be damaged...
I got the chip in, but the truck would not start. I took it out and it fired right up. So I guess I need to have it reflashed for my computer. I am waiting to hear back from a local dealer to see if he can do it.

If the chip isnt programed with your computer code,it will not start. You need to get the chip reprogramed to your code.
