Accidental Air Bag Deployment

I was riding down the highway this past Sat. when my side curtain air bags deployed...that was fun .

I see in my owners manual that the safety restraint system is only covered for 5/50 and I'm over the 50k miles.

Am I correct in assuming there is no recourse with Ford about something like this?

I would take it in and raise holy hell over it. Get Corporate involved, get (insert whatever Govt. agency it is that does recalls) involved..........Accidental deployment of an airbag can be very deadly.

also, search and see if this is the first case or if there are others, if there are others, then this just gives you more ammo to work with.

I know of a 2003 expedition going down street when both side airbags deployed. Ford acts as though they are really surprised. Michael101, I do not see the air bags as part of the saftey restraint system. That is my interperation. I believe airbags are another issue all together.

I'm sorry I laughed too because I can just picture someone in the dealer going "Who is paying for my change of pants???"

It gives the phrase, "getting blown while driving" a whole new meaning.

Most insurance companies cover airbag deployment with a zero deductible...
