I just purchased a 2001 Excursion With the factory installed dvd system. The previous owner has switched out the stereo system and has replaced with an alpine 12 disc changer. I am getting picture on dvd player but no sound. The controls in the center console do not seem to work at all. My kids are not digging reading thier movies. Is there a fix anyone knows of? Thank you
You probably have to listen to the dvd via headphones. After the aftermarket stereo was installed the dvd wasn't able to be heard through the speakers. Did the dvd come with headphones? What kind of dvd is it?
The dvd player is a AVD 400A- could not find a manufacturer name... although while looking for this info for you , I see that there are splitters and new jacks running into it so I am thinking it must have worked at some point maybe. I just downloaded a manual to the Alpine and now I will go look for a manual for dvd. I wish the previous owners left paperwork with vcehicle especially when switching out stock componets. Also- Headphones did not come with vehicle- I just assumed any old headphones would work .. Not the case? Thank you for your help
