I don't have that unit, but I do have an Eclipse AVN 7000. Assuming that the AVN 6610 is similar in functions, you won't be disappointed. My AVN 7000 almost rivals the Delorme Street Atlas & GPS I run on my laptop.
The maps are totally up to date and cover all of the US and Canada. It amazes me to see when I am traveling down a back road the the 7000 actually shows the road name. Some of these roads are well of the beaten path. It has the same voice directions that the Delorme has. The GPS works flawlessly. The DVD/CD player works great. If there is one thing that may be weak that would be the way the antenna hooks up to the stock antenna. I even hooked up the backup camera which has already saved me a bundle in dings and dents (to other people).
I have owned it for about 6 months now. Bought it new off Ebay. When I did my research, the Eclipse models seem to surpass all other aftermarket AVNs available at the time. Pioneer makes a good unit, that was my second choice. Hope this helps.
