Pulling the trailer this weekend and I experienced a full stall when applying the brakes. Restarts just fine, then stalls again. Unplug trailer, no stall, plug it back in, problem gone.... until I go down the hill that is. So I call the brake controller installer, limp over on the trailer brakes alone (does not cause stall) and wait for full checkout. Nothing found in the wiring and on road check it does not happen (of course !). So on my merry way for the weekend with the issue gnawing at the back of my head but no further incidents until I get home.
Pulling off the freeway and it stalls at the bottom of the ramp.... Intermittent obviously but where do I go from here? I do have an EBPV bypass installed, controller obviously, and BANKS power chip all in for about a year or so with no problems.
Any ideas out there???
I have heard a cam sensor cause that same issue. I don't have a clue as to why or how but if you have a spare throw it in and see whats up. Thats a very dangerous position to be in. Trailer and a stalled truck are bad news bears!
I agree with tim on the CPS. Also I would check your ground from trailer to truck, I had a trailer on the other day with a not very good ground when I turned the turn signal on, either way it would turn off the cruise control. All it would take is an interruption of a weak CPS from an occasional bad ground (i.e. sometimes the trailer has a good ground sometimes bad) and walla you now have no power brakes, power steering. Good luck and be carefull
