new motor

Was wanting some info on a good shop. Building me a truck. Its a 89 f-250 5spd 4x4 With 1 ton axles from a f-350. Doing a body swap with my 95 2wd. Instead of putting in my I-6, or using the 351 I want to go diesel. Anyone have any info on doing this? Or be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I have seen in the classifieds on this site a PSD with all the wiring, etc. Around $5000.00 I think. Check out the junkyards and classifieds. Best thing would be to buy a totaled PSD that way you have everything you need.

Honestly with what you plan to do the best thing would be to convert your 95 2wd to a 4wd and then put the engine in that. Well unless you 95 is actually a f-150 then it wouldn't work! But either way the best thing like Neal said is to get a whole truck that is wrecked. The engine and tranny is one thing but all the wiring, dash and the little pieces will make your cost sky rocket.

That's true I forgot about the dash components and little intricat stuff that may be very hard to find. Just find a totaled one and put your body on that one.

I looked into doing the same thing with an "88 I used to have and all the stuff I needed got out of control so I just bought a new one instead. But you can do it cheaper the way we suggested.

No prob. Post back when you are ready or have anymore questions or need guidance. At least let us know how the swap is coming along. Good luck brother.

Best place to get a PSD is outta a city transportation vehicle like Dial-a-ride vans. Those old timers honestly dont abuse those motors like some other PSD owners I know, not pointing fingers at anybody around here......... Im buying another motor as well to start workin on a twin turbinator kit, Muahahaha, more power!

lol, I should post my disclaimer hijacked from Arch Bishop. To many newbies will follow the sig list of mods and not get the mileage I do due to lead foot syndrome and it'll be my fault. Oh well, bring it I guess
