Had the 10k mod on for a while now but never really had a chance to see the full benefit. I wasn't pulling anything, but I had about 800 lbs in the bed and 2 full fuel tanks when I hit what is known as "7 mountains" on westbound Route 322 in PA.
A long curving upgrade that gets especially steep near the upper end.
Pulled it at 65 in OD never even felt like it was going to slow down. Watched EGT's the whole way up and not until I got to the steepest part did they get over 1100. Maxed out just under 1200 and that was only for about 20 seconds until I cleared the grade.
The truck would do this empty pre-mod, but not loaded like it was this time. The old 351 gasser couldn't do more than 45 mph at the steepest portion.
So, for any one without this mod wondering about the benefits vs. cost, it is well worth the buck and a half and half hour of time!!!
I agree I have had it for a couple of months and like you I haven't pulled yet. I pulled My 16' gooseneck day befor yesterday and it was surprising the difference. I am still spooky about fully testing it yet because my gauges won't be here till Friday. Can't wait to fully test it.
Yes and welcome 360. I don't know about you but I can't wait to see Skittle drag a skidsteer. Makes you wonder if he uses a trailer, Now I would pay to see that. LOL.
P.S. Those links rock and if you have questions we can help.
