The lib is a jeep product owned by Diamler, it's made in Toledo OHIO JEEP plant where they have been building jeeps for 65 years. I have allways owned fords and jeeps. From ******, Kaiser,AMC and Chrysler and have liked them all with no issues. Jeep continues to be the most offroad worthy vehicle made, and rugged. It will take anything an 18 year old girl can dish out and more. Kudo's for not buying japanese junk, america is the best, screw the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm making the payments, but she's stuck with the repair bills. I can't see it being any more expensive than the 99 ZX2 we got her when she was 16. I didn't trust that car for her to take off to college. I did tell her that if she bought the parts I would do the work for her.
I had an 02 ZX2 and that car would run, it would run up to 7,000 rpm's before I shifted, the zetec was a quick motor. I was so impressed, that I traded the ZX2 for a new focus ST that is faster yet. Anyhow, I belong to a couple of liberty forums and there isn't alot of issues reported with these vehicles besides the ball joint recall. Nomore so than any other vehicle, she'll be fine.

Dunno about that. My parents had a Grand Cherokee Limited with AWD and in the snow it spent more times sideways than it did pointed straight.
IMO, Jeep is just a name. Its a status symbol for yuppies and soccer moms who think its cool to drive a 4x4.
Has Jeep managed to come up with a transfer case that doesnt crack in half?
Jeep's claim of being, "the off-road legend" is a joke.
I have never ever cracked a t-case in half on a jeep and further more, the t-cases are made by dana corp, who makes them for ford, gm and chrysler as well. The bash jeep isn't going to work, check out the trails and 90% of the vehicles are jeeps. America hasn't gotten wrong, they know what wheels. However there were vehicles as good as a jeep offroad, the 66-77 bronco, scouts and land rover defender 90. Only the defender is still being made, but not offered here. Sure yuppies drive jeeps, but so don't hard core offroaders.
Not around here. Around here its more oldschool Toyotas and fullsize Fords and Chevies.
There are a few Jeeps around, but most of them end up getting towed home. They always seem to be the ones that break.
I used to be big into Toyota 4Runners, and Id even take a 4Runner over a Jeep. They are expensive, but they are purpose built for off-road use.
Hey man, drive what you like, but try to feed me a line of BS about how Jeep is such this great offroader, because its not. Sadly, unlike most other SUVs, they are designed for yuppie soccer moms.
We just got 3 Liberty's to replace our worn out, reliable just tired, 04 Escapes at work. They already have 1kish on them and the suspension is already starting to pop, acts a bit strange sometimes to. It does have a tighter turning raduis compared to the Escape which will wear out parts quicker. Their driven 24x7 so we'll find out in 6 months. Compared to the other 07 Escape at the other campus the Escape is much much much nicer. Easier to drive much more storage space in the middle and seems more powerful. The liberty is also rwd compared to fwd on the Escape, a side effect of this seems that the rwd makes the cabin much hotter.
