Loose clamp, oily boots... I just had this happen over the weekend..
Recommendations;
Remove IC pipes and all boots.. Use brake cleaner and wash off every part.. Inside and out (took me 9 cans).. Dry everything and apply Hairspray to all connectors of the IC Pipe and Intake Elbow and Turbo Intake.. Install pipes and tighten all clamps down to 9lb-ft/torq..
The hairspray will help the boots adhere to the pipes so they dont blow off again..
Try to get a Tq Wrench if you can.. I noticed a major difference in tighteness compared to when I normally tightened them down by hand.. You can pretty much get to any of it with a 6" extension..
For easy of doing it tho, yank your passenger battery and your air intake.. You'll have free room to manage everything..
Aye crap lol.. I forgot one other thing to help make it easy..
Attach the boots to the Intercooler on driver side/passenger side first.. Then on the IC to Turbo Inlet pipe.. Attach that boot but hand tighten it so it can twist but not come off.. So before you put pipes in you should have boots tightened down on the Intercooler and one on the pipe that goes from IC to Turbo.. It makes it SO MUCH easier to move the pipes and get the angle right..
Good luck and have fun It was a blast this weekend hehe..

Haha.. My sister was having fun.. She's younger then me.. I was using my flash light as a light saber and she kept saying "quit scaring the planes" lol..
I was on the freeway and all of a sudden the intercooler hose popped off right at the turbo any clue on what would do this.
Try storms idea, if the hose blows off again there is an updated replacement hose that is orange on the inside for your truck.
I would take it to a dealer and get the new hose installed along with some new clamps. You might have to pay the deductable depending on how many miles you have on your truck.
Turbine overspeed can cause an overboost condition which could blow your turbo hose off. A good service tech can tell you if you have a VGT problem or a bad sensor such as the EP sensor. My experience with turbo hoses blowing off were caused by a bad EP (exhaust pressure) sensor. Sometimes you get a check engine light, sometimes you don't.
I have had the same thing happen to me comming back from the river pulling the boat. The first time I was able to put it back on and lemp home. The second time I lost all power. I had to call a friend to tow the boat home. We were in Baker and it was 115. The dealer said it was a sensor. I will try the hair spray thing.
I drove mine for a year and a half with, which I did not know at athe time and I didn't detect any performance problems, the vanes stuck in the full open position. I found out about the problem when I was forced to have the 06E17 recal, which disables the EP sensor and relies on other sensors to deduce the EVGT signal.
During this time, however, I was blowing hoses, especially when towing or mashing the go pedal, and I tries all of these tricks without any results.
In addition, the IC was damaged by a hairline crack at the seams, which was all covered under warranty.
I suggest you take it to a rebutable diesel tech to have the EVGT checked
If you PCM has the 06E17 recall it should result in a CEL condition, as the program will cycle the vanes through a predetermine range, and if not a CEL condition will arrise.
I'm just hoping and praying that the head gaskets have not been compromised.
