Ok fellas big problem. I drive a 1994 f 150 with a 300/6 in it. Im gettin about 12-15 mpg. I love the truck and dont want to get rid of it, but my parents want to buy me a ford tempo.... Wht the heck right? Well i need some help to get at least 15-17 mpg. Any help would be appreciated
go look for an late 70s-80s Mercedes diesel. You can set them up to run on veg oil(free) and from what I hear, you can get 25+ mile per gallon. Im pretty sure the models that end in D are diesels. (240D, 300D) Good luck, I hope you get to keep your truck. OR you can look for a VW rabbit.
AND: they will run about 1500-2000

Disconnect the speedo so they cant tell what kind of mileage your getting
Unless you are driving on the highway all the time, I doubt you'll get 15-17 mpg out of the 300. I get around about the same as you just driving around town, and my engine is pretty well tuned and maintained.
