I'm going to get this program, but what should I buy? What do I need to run it off of? I have an HP PDA. . . will that work? Should I get a laptop? Which particular software do I need to do everything with all the PSD's?
Thanks
Tim
I opted for the laptop for the greater screen area to view live data. But the PDA will work as well just cant view or datalog as many sensors at the same time with the PDA. Any laptop can run it as long as it has USB 2.0 support.
Well days off prove to be killer, I just bought a lap top and ordered the AE software, I'll let you guys know all the neat stuff I find when I get it.

Prepare for much confusion, and then happiness. I love my AE, just to let you know though, it wont work on ur truck the second you get it, you need to get an activation number for the ford enhanced bundle which involves an email to AE. I tired to call to get it but still had to wait for the email from them.
Go ahead and go to AE's site and download the latest version. Then install it and when the ODBII connector comes in you will have the latest version.
Just make sure you connect to the truck as "Generic Powertrain" the first time and then get the Hardware Serial # (Help --> About in lower right corner XX-XXXX) to get the correct Activation number for version 5
If you bought it from ITP it may come with the activation number on a piece of paper. Mine did, so no worry there. I just typed it in. If you got it from AE I don't know for sure.
I had some trouble for a short while getting the non-OBD compliant sub menu to display the 7.3 diesel. It has to be just right or any test you run will make the truck very unhappy. To be honest I'm not even sure how I got around that but I kept backing out and reselecting until I found it. Made me feel kinda incompetent for a short while there. Maybe that just confirmed something we've suspected all along.
Does the AE package offer an option to recal the speedo for larger tires? I've looked over tehir website, but didn't see anythign saying one way or another on this issue.
That would be great. I have my F250 and my Ex, and my oldset son is getting ready to look for a late 99 model F250. Once he gets his truck, we're going to split the cost for AE, but it will probably live on his laptop, which is fine with me. I've already increased the tire size on my Ex, and will probably do my truck around the end of the year.
