I calculate my mileage each time I fill up and average 15 city and 20 highway (@ 70 mph). I really "baby it" in town with slow acceleration and coasting whenever possible.

My '05 6.0 trip meter seems to be right on the money most of the time. I put a Superchips programmer on my '00 7.3 X and the mpg jumped way up over 20. I thought the programmer was the miracle machine until I started figuring by hand. On a long trip I will reset it each time I fill up. Never got above 10 mpg pulling my '26 Komfort travel trailer. In town I just leave it alone and it stays in the 12-14 range all the time.

Gents, I'm in the group that resets the "lie-o-meter" every tank full and once I started this practice .. every tank ... the actual mpg and that displayed on the LOM began to converge and are now about .5mpg off ..

I'm using and SCT Xcal II with LIPD tunes ... getting avg 16.5 with Street Economy tune .. around town
