Intermittent Vibration
I have a 2000 X PSD with an extremely intermittent vibration. It has only happened twice now, once on me and once on my wife. I was at normal highway speeds when the vibration started. It felt like I was driving on a washboard road. I let off the gas and pulled off the road. Before I came to a stop it was gone. About 5 weeks later it happened to my wife. The details are very sketchy, but she was just driving along at 50 mph when it started. She slowed down to make at turn off the road and it stopped. In both cases we were just driving along, no bumps or anything strange and after it stops it is gone and everything is fine.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

it's likely in the brakes. I had this happen on my old 04 F150 and it was a lever in the emergency brake mechanism in the rear. It shook BAD, so I lubed it up and it never happened again. Yours could be something similar, like a stuck caliper. Check for excess brake dust from one wheel.
