first message (introduction)

Just joined, and following the recomendation to send a message on this area. The first Ford Truck I drove was a 1965 F100 with a 260 straight 6, 3 on the tree, short bed, it was nearly impossible to stall that engine. since then I have driven several F150's with 302 V-8's (a 1970 with 3 on the tree and a 1980 with an automatic and a 1980 Bronco with a 351M and c6 auto). I currently own a 1992 F250 extended cab with a 7.3 liter diesel and 4eod auto, I am looking at a 1991 f600 with the 6.6 liter turbo straight 6 with 5 speed (not overdrive) two speed rear end which I would like to buy if I can get the price right. My F250 has problems with shifting and the tach, I think these may be related but haven't gotten under it to check it out (this just started recently and I usually drive my 98 subaru to work for gas mileage I have had some time to put this off). I am interested in making bio diesel for the F250, the F600 if I get it, and the older of my Kuboto tractors (the BX2200) (my former secretary at work said I have too many hobies). Well this is about enough introduction, thanks for offering this kind of a sight for me to participate in, and gain knowledge from.

Mike

Welcome to FTE! If you love your truck as much as most of us then you'll fit right in whether its built up, restored, rusted, or busted!

I'd suggest you find your local chapter and join that as well! Meeting local Ford guys has its benefits and you'll make some great friends.

New member for 2 weeks, already helped me, repaired my door lock with foil, and order and got a $25 spare CPS, had to replace one already. My truck is a 2000, got 180,000mi. Still have my origional brakes, My dealer checked them and said they were OK and will last a few 1000 miles more. I read the forum almost every day,
Many thanks.
