Question need help deciding

Hey all, new to the website and soon new to diesel. I need help deciding what year to get. I know I want the 7.3, crew cab, long bed, SRW. Other than that, I am not sure the major differences in the motors between the years if any. I like the 97 body style as well as the 99-02 styles. If anyone has any inputs as to pluses and minuses of the different years, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time, Jeff.

For OBS look into 96 or 97's those have the most updates to the trannies and a few tiny differences that makes mod easier later. if you go to a superduty look for anything later than a mid 99. the early 99's have a different turbo and injectors and less power and less mod potential. Pretty much late 99-03 are the same but the late 01-03 have powered metal connecting rods rather than forged rods and they don't take more power than about 450 or so. Something like that anyway. All the 7.3's are great engines and really none of them suffer from major problems other than Cam sensor which is common to all. but now it cheap! they used to be right around a $100 now they are $25.
