Overiding Pats
Torque1st mentioned the paragraph below in a previous thread.
Can someone tell me where I can find the antenna ring he's referring to?
I removed the antenna ring from around the lock and put the PATS key inside the ring secured with zip ties. Then I took the whole antenna ring and secured it with zip ties up under the dash. Now I can use a plain cut key to operate the vehicle. I don't have to have those keys with huge heads on my key ring either. Now I can have a key for all three members of the family and a spare for the wallet for $1.25 each.

Maybe you cant find it because you do not have it on your vehicle (which you forgot to describe...model year ect.). Not all Fords were equipped with the PATS system....hence that may not be your problem.

My point exactly...no sense tearing into something looking for an item that may no be there....hence the key question haha. I've read the article on this and it is very well explained...but still it all hinges on the proverbeal 'IF". Hopefully he'll answer back soon and someone can take it from there.
