First off; check engine light comes on. Slight loss of power, then I notice the fuel guage dropped below E. I run the truck for 5 minutes and the fuel guage jumps back to 1/3 tank and the truck feels strong again. The truck has only 7400 miles. That was yesterday, I have run the truck on 4 trips for a total of 110 miles today. The truck feels good, but I decide to get some new fuel in her. I fill her up fuel reads less than half a tank. I have used Power Service at the recommended dosage since new. My local Ford dealer will not look at the truck because I did not purchase the truck from then. That kind of pissed me off, so I was told not to return ever. Any helpful info would be great.
Please post year & model and any mods the truck has.
Also find a different Ford dealer the one you went to are deffinite idiots. Also call FMC customer care center and lodge a complaint against the dealer FMC does not take kindly to there dealers refusing work espcially if the truck is under warranty.

Then go to the GM of the dealership and inquire if this is policy or the service writer's policy... and what does he think Ford Corporate might have to say about that?
I would not have them service it... but I would get the Service manager fired overit and file a formal compliant with FMC as warrenty coverage is not being honored by one of the dealerships.
NO WONDER THE US CAR COMPANIES AND DEALERSHIPS ARE HURTING SO BAD... A FEW ROTTEN APPLES RUIN IT FOR ALL... LEXUS AND TOYOTA DON'T DO THIS!!!!!
Bundy33,
Sounds like the fuel sender is bad, the PCM has a strategy to reduce power if it believes the truck is low on fuel to prevent fuel injector problems do to fuel starvation. Find a Ford dealer with a good/qualified diesel tech and have them read the codes, diagnose the problem and fix your truck.
And yes file a formal complaint with FMC over the dealers denial of warranty work that is total BS.
What part of NY do you live in?

My '05 PSD 250 has a "sqawling " noise somewhere under the truck. Sounds like a metal shaft spinning slowly in a rubber sleeve. The truck is at warranty mileage + a little and the dealer I'm taking it to for diag. and repr, has never seen the truck before and he is very willing to work on the truck. He is in Frankfort, KY.
