ok so i have a 1994 f350 and was wondering how hard it is to do the sending units in the tank, i know on some trucks it is easier to remove bed than drop tank, the truck has 315k miles on it and front tank guage stopped reading so figured time to replace all of that along with selector and fuel line to fuel pump i am running an air dog fuel pump so from there to motor is all new. thank you in advance love this forum and all the help
I guess the aftermarket pump you are running is a reason for no replies.
The tank gauge sender is attached to the electric pump in the tank. You may as well replace both of them at the same time... same goes for the rear tank.
As for pulling the bed... I've never seen a bed pulled for tank work on any of my personal trucks... I'm on my 4th F-series truck, and will never go with another brand, NEVER!
My current truck has a bad gauge sender in the front tank. It also has low pressure at the engine, compared to the rear tank, which had lower pressure at first, but after several tanks being run through it, has come up to normal pressures. I'm pretty sure the previous owner, who bought it new, never ran the back tank very much, judging by the bonked spots around the filler opening where someone bonked the truck with the filler nozzle.
I'm going to leave the front tank empty for now, and get the pump and sender. I've got the plastic tank (!) and will change out the pump this fall when it's cooler outside.
thank yall for the replies ya it is a fummins have tried in other forums guess i shouldnt have mentioned the fuel pump but i think im going to pull the bed and redo all the lines and sending units while bed is off ospho it and paint it thank you again for the replies
