Actually the old one that is pictured is an 1988 26ft Wilderness. Bought it from a friends brother for $2,800. I dumped about another grand into it but when I was done it was really in great shape. After I stumbled across the deal on my new one I put that old one up for sale for $3,900 OBO. I wasn't sure I would even get any calls but in two days I received over 40 calls. The first guy that called couldn't look at it untill the following day so I told him I wouldn't sell it untill he looked at it and by the time he came I had 5 offers for full asking price!! Needless to say he didn't do any dickering with me and just cut me check for the full amount! I sure wish I would have put it at 4,900 OBO, lol. I guess hind sight is 20/20.
Hey rvpuller, I think I asked you about this before but what is your total weight with your truck, boat, and camper??? Just curious because your camper has to weigh at least 4k more then mine and I'm sure the dually is another 1k lbs over my F250. You must be in that 22k-23k area being I'm around 18k all loaded up????

I'm looking at 23K when loaded with just the truck and trailer, the boat is another 1K. But when we pull up into the mountains I drop off some weight like water and chest freezer and aux tank empty. My truck is a 2WD so what I gain with the DRW is a wash over a 4X4.
Before anyone pulls this heavy take a real good look at your rig, I ordered our trailer with 121/4 X 33/8 Dexter self adjusting brakes, I have the best controller I could find (Brakesmart) and I would even consider it with out a DRW. Also many don't realize that the DRW comes with a smaller tire than the SRW so it lowers your final gear ratio, ever little bit helps .
Boy Denny, your up and at'm early today! I agree with you 100% on the dually. My ol man bought an older ford dually (mid 90s) and as far as stability there's no comparison to a SRW truck. What's the pin wieght for your camper? I will say one benifit of 4wd is when you need to do some backing up at the camp ground and up hill's and such 4 Low is sure handy and whole lot easier on the trans.
Yes I'm up early but my neighbor is having a nut fry for fathers day and I'm going to help him clean out his shop and empty out a few beers. I also bought a new rod and reel that I have to get ready for our trip to the mountains, being retired is hard work you need a early start .
The pin weight runs between 3100 and 3300 depends on how much water is on board. More freshwater less pin more waste water more pin weight. I have never had a problem with backing up a 2WD with low gears. Now when I had trucks with 3.73 gears it was hard on the trans but not with the deep gears.
Good point, I kinda overlooked that. Where abouts are you headed and what kinda fishin are you planning on doing? Possibly a little fly fishing for some lake or rainbow trout??

We will be going West of Grandby Co. on a small lake, it will be both rainbow and lake trout and maybe even some northerns if they are willing.
