Hi, I have a 2006 F-250 XLT. I'm looking to hook up an air horn/siren, and need to find the horn ring wire coming from the steering wheel. The idea is to hook in a double-pole switch, so that the horn switch on the wheel can be set to trigger either the factory horn, or the air horn/siren.

Does anyone know which wire it is, where it is, and whether it is positive or ground switched?

Yellow with green tracer behind your fuse box (positive polarity)...the blue horn wire in your steering column is negative polarity.

SPDT switch for the horns and SPST overide for the compressor

 

I used a DPDT rocker switch (couldn't find a single throw so used 1/2 of this one) from radio shack. It is hooked into the blue ground wire running down the right side of the steering column and goes to relay in engine compartment. Here is a pic of the switch.
