Think I can get it out without lifting the rear up ? Looks like I might be able to just get under but I dont know if its awkward from a unbolting point of view Thanks
Depends on how small you are. There is one screw and one plug holding it on. It takes less than 10 min with jacking up the rear. Just buy the new sensor and look for its twin on top of the rear diff. Good luck!

I tried it today , I was able to get far enough under and take it out. It stuck a bit and I had to gently pry it around the seat but it came out. Just junky looking. Put new one in and no more abs light . thanks very much.
If and when you replace the fluid in the rear, take the side plug off to check the level, but remove the ABS sensor and fill the pumpkin from that point. Its much easier to fill it from the sensor location than trying to fill from the fill hole on the side.
