Well here's one I haven't ran into yet. I was out rescuing one of our work vans (darn astros and fuel pumps ) Any how, I connected my winch leads to the battery, set the AIC to charge protect and started winching. Everything went smooth..well other than I thought I was going to pull the van in half . When I got back in the truck to turn off the AIC I noticed the ABS light was blinking, shut the truck down, disconnected everything, tied everything down and went to leave. No light, started down the road and the light started blinking again...
It's blinking 15 short flashes, holds on the 16th for a few seconds and starts over again. Did it the whole way home. No difference in how the truck drove or brakes working. Possible code for amp draw or something? I'm going to hook my scanner up later but I've noticed if it's not a CEL light it doesn't like to read. I tried opening Cuda's manuals but they didn't want to open.. Thanks for the info!
I think the sensor blinks when you get low on brake fluid or fluid pressure, if I rememeber right. Maybe check the fluid levels in the tank and check over your lines for any signs of a leak. The "T" distribution block on the rear axle tube has a tendency to break. Hope this helps
i know the abs light will blink if the vss is acting up. dont know what else. but if that were bad, the speedo would be jacked up and the tranny would shift wrong
I thought the vss at first the the spedo and odo work alright. When it when in my dad's gasser the odo went blank.
I'll check the fluid levels tomorrow, didn't notice any drips under the truck before leaving but then again that doesn't always mean much. What stikes me as funny are the brakes working fine. Does the ABS light flash or is it the red "brake" light on the dash when the fluid is low?
I checked with my scanner and as before since their isn't a CEL it didn't find anything. Thanks!
check ur fuse. mine was blinking really fast for a while. had good fluid levels and everything worked fine.
i dont remember what fuse it was its in the cab on the upper part of the pannel
Mitch
Thanks for the reminder Mitch, guess I shoulda checked the normals before posting. Got to checking the fuses this morning and the 15A for the stop/hazzard/etc was blown... Don't know what took it out but everything seems fine after replacing it. I'm really stumped now because the brake/turn lights were working on the way home with the light flashing Oh well guess as long as everything is working right...
