Hey all! More work being done with the beast. I have a couple of things I am focusing on, but the main thing at the moment is the clutch safety switch. As things are now, I have to push the clutch pedal nearly through the floor to engage the switch and be able to start the truck. I'd love to correct this, so where is this switch located and what does it rely on to engage?
The previous owner changed the small resevoir for the clutch and very well may not have bled the system afterwards. Also, the clutch itself likes to stop about half way back up when I let go with my foot then pop the rest of the way a second later. Once things are in motion, it shifts nicely.
So far I am figuring if there is air in the clutch system, it will probably cause the sticky clutch pedal and the need to stand on the clutch to engage the safety switch. I have also read that a flexing firewall will contribute to the switch issue as well. I guess that is common in this type and year of truck.

The switch (E8TZ-11A152-A) is mounted at the top of the clutch pedal, where the pedal fits underneath the dash. It's still available from Ford. FTE sponsor DIRECTFORDPARTS shows the switch at $14.42 list, FTE member price: $12.98 net.
The hydraulic clutch system can be a pain. There are FTE members here who can assist you with diagnosis and tips.
....or go to junkyard and find an automatic truck, it has the same harness but with a cap on the end that plugs into the NSS. get that plug and put it in your truck and you can crank up truck in gear.
