Interesting...

You can post in the for sale thread only if you adhere to the guidelines in the first post. Okay, sounds fair enough to me so my post should be removed based on those guidelines. After all a Ford Mustang driveline is obviously not related to a Ford truck in any way shape or form. As we all know Ford never put a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine in any of their Ford trucks.

Now with that being said, I must ask why a post about a Cougar with no drivetrain, or front or rear suspension is allowed to stay? Or a travel trailer, or even a utility trialer. Or, for that matter, a camper shell which used to be on a Chevy? (and isn't owned by the person posting it) If you are going to cry foul over my post, then you need to cry foul over the other non Ford truck related items in that thread, and stop the discrimination...

Well,
Its probably not aimed at you directly I assume....but you know what that does lol. I personally dont pay much attention to what folks are selling in our fourm but then again...hardly anyone posts over there anyway...most often when things like this happen its an effort to reduce server load...clean up old posts...remove old users...spring cleaning if you will.

Personally, I see where you are coming from and I have been victim to some decisions that I dont think were neccecary. But then again I'd probably remove the post for the Econoline as I dont consider it a "TRUCK" by the definition...but... the site does have Fourms for the various vans ( No offense Clint ).

My advise...dont worry much about it...if you need to you can always post it in the "Classifieds" at the toolbar on top.??

PS Theres always the So Cal forum too lol

Really? Hmm...Aren't Rangers and Couriers Ford Trucks? Both used the 2.3 liter.

Courier/Ranger: Same 2.3 liter engine/automatic C3 transmission as used in the Mustang/Capri/Pinto/Bobcat/Fairmont/Zephyr.

Yes, I know Ford put the 2.3 in the Ranger, I was being sarcastic.

And you forgot one in your list, it was also in the TVR Tasmin.

Couple of things, since most of the ads you sited were mine

The Utility Trailer was built from a Ford Chassis, even if it wasn't, a lot of guys with Trucks, use them like a truck and could benefit from it. The Shell, even though it was off a Chevy, is most likely a 100% match to a Ford...again, for someone looking for one it wouldn't matter if it came of a La France Fire Truck, as long as it fit their needs.

I'll give ya the Cougar, but please take another look...everything was FREE...who knows, maybe you have a neighbor with a bashed in door...you can have for FREE...maybe even make a buck...or maybe you 2nd car was in need of parts...who knows...price was all "FOR FREE"

As far as the Camper Trailer...heck, lot's of guys need one or want one, what better place to post it for sale than on a truck site...since ya gotta have a truck to pull it?

I kinda sense a bit of hosility in some of your posts, as well as another members...maybe you two need to hook up...especially since you're so close together miles-wise, hash it out and clear the air? I've met the other guy personally, and he's a nice guy

I don't know what started things, and don't really care, but seems as if there may be some ill feelings out there.

Heck....You even bumped a post about the heater and cruise control I gave you...they were both off a Dodge MothorHome....that's off topic for sure, but you still bumped it for some reason....twice in fact.

There are rules and guideline, that's for sure, but we're such a small chapter at this point that we propbaly don't even need to be moderated (shut up Dan!).

I could see if we had 10K hits a day here and someone was trying to talk Chevy in the middle of it and waste BW, but it's just not (Yet) the case in our corner of the FTE site.

JMHO.

I haven't got a clue what started it since I have never met the guy, and I am not taking it out on anyone, or their posts. The thing that irks me is that he told me the reason mine was taken off was because it was not Ford truck related. Yet, he allowed the others. And to me, that smacks of discrimination.

I bumped the heater and CC thread because he told me over two weeks ago he would bring them down and even asked for my address, and phone number. After giving him my address and phone number I never hear from him again . So I had no clue what his plans were for coming down here.

As it stands now he can take them back up to you the next time you two meet because I am selling the truck, so I will not need them. Thanks for the offer though, that was cool, and I won't forget it.

I dunno Jim,...guess I'm at a crossroads here.

I pulled the parts off

Dan took them to Clints

Clint has been holding them some 15 or miles from you?

Seems for what you were getting you could have made time/effort to head over and pick them up...sure, I know your situation with fuel costs and such, but 10 bucks round trip might not have been a bad deal.

But hey, bright side is the stuff isn't at my place anymore....and that's a GOOD thing

Issue solved, it's Dan's fault once again.

Damn Dale, you have a point, if Dan hadn't taken the parts down, there would be no expectations.

Good call!

Blame it on Dan

I thought we agreed that Dan's responsibility was going to be limited to global warming.

I'm confused.

Kan't we all just get along???

Just to keep the record straight, I asked Jim to contact me off-line on these matters. He was notified of the sale ad before it was removed, and if he had answered my pm and told me the engine would work in a smog-legal Ranger, I would have asked him to reword the ad and repost.

Normally we do not sell Mustang parts for non-members. The guidelines have some grey area so we can work with them - but they were given to us by the FTE administrators and we were required to post them verbatim.

As for the parts, again I asked Jim to contact me off-line. I tried to call him this evening and will deliver them ASAP. Like you said, it is only 15 miles and not worth disrupting the forum over.

Sorry this personal matter became public, and that you guys were involved in this unpleasant situation.

Clint

It's tough to administer a web forum. Sometimes you just make the call and moderate (with a capital M). It can be a quick judgment call that needs to routinely be made. Occasionally that judgment call might be considered excessive. SO WHAT?

Relax. I'm not reading in these posts that anyone is holding any animosity. Life is good. It may or may not be a mistake. Who cares? It is a small group of friends discussing silly things. The odds of him selling his stuff within this small group of friends was minute anyway. He would have been better served to offer it up on eBay or craigslist, but he did suggest offering a break for friends.

In the forums I administer, I delete accounts routinely. I'm a rotten b@stard in defending the rules of my forums. I hear a few rumbles occasionally, but I don't let it get under my skin.

Life is too short to get cranky.

Chet

Thanks, Chet - I am glad someone understands.

What really hurts is that I am in the middle of a membership drive, trying to lure experienced posters and active members back into the Chapter. It is working - you notice how many new names have posted the last few weeks?

But I want to show them an active forum discussing interesting things, and doing activities they would be interested in doing.

I don't want to show a silly squabble over a small issue - that may be why they stopped supporting this chapter in the first place!

Yes, and I think you are working hard to do a great job. If this thread resulted from a mistake (Or not, I take no sides), let it slide downstream and continue doing the good work you are doing.
