Wasn't home this evening, went to see Toto in concert at Table Mountain. I am off tomorrow, but don't have the gas to go up. I get paid Friday, and can go up next Wednesday and pick them up. Just need to know what time.

Can always throw them in on the sale to sweeten the deal. Or if things don't work out for the Salt Lake City truck, I can always keep it, and buy my neighbors instead.

Nighteyez's parts have been delivered. Took them to him this morning. Only 30 miles roundtrip, took less than an hour.

My fault, a silly squabble over a small issue.

Nice Jeep....er Ford masquerading as a Jeep you have there Clint. Thanks for bring down the parts, I could have gone up next week and picked them up, but I appreciate the delivery.

(Everyone knows this is a Ford chapter, so all our vehicles are Ford's no matter what it says on the fenders right?)

I don't know why you want to keep poking - you have your parts, pulled and delivered to your doorstep for free.

I drive a jeep because it suits me - does very well pulling the featherlight camp trailer I bought. It is also paid for and cheap to run. Last year I was making 15 mpg pulling my trailer. For what it is worth it is also the last year jeeps were made by Rambler, before Dodge took them over.

I am not ashamed of it - the only Ford that would perform my job as well is an early Bronco with a 302 V8 and stick shift. The Bronco II is underpowered - it will not even pull me around the mountains, much less a boat or camp trailer. I owned one for less than 3 months one time - I hated it a week after I drove it off the dealer's lot.

A full size Bronco would suit me, except they do not get very good gas mileage. My trips are often 3 or 4 thousand miles long, a cheaper rig to run means I can stay out longer. I live on a fixed income, and must budget my vacations.

There is no requirement that you own a Ford truck to join FTE or our chapter. All you need is to be interested in Fords, and not push other brands.

Now is there anything else you want to say to embarrass me and disrupt the forum?

I am not poking. I love Jeeps, and especially the Cherokee Limited. Before I moved up to Fresno, I owned a white 1989 Jeep Cherokee Limited with tan leather interior, and I loved it. I was joking about the Jeep and just made the comment that we are all Ford lovers who drive vehicles that are not Fords so we just tell the vehicle it is a Ford. Even when I mentioned I was buying a Jimmy, I also mentioned I would put the blue oval on the grille and Explorer emblems on the fenders.

This is a Ford truck Enthusiast club/chapter, and you do not have to own a Ford truck to be an enthusiast. My comments were not meant to poke fun at you, it was simply an atempt at humor. You either misread it, or I didn't word it correctly. If you have taken offense, then I apologize. That was not my intention.

The parts were delivered free, but as you know I have made several attempts to go get them. I also originally was going to pick them up from Mike on the way to the Micke Grove meet, but something came up and he could not make it.

There is nothing to be ashamed of, the Cherokee is a well built SUV and a very capable one. It does not hurt that it gets great gas mileage for its size and abilities either. I should look for one of those instead of a Jimmy. maybe I can find one closer to home.

In any case, again, I apologize if you were offended by my last post. Truce?

I don't know this - Mike lives very close to Micke Grove, you could have swung by his place to get them, and helped Dan load and unload his truck. Or you could have met Dan here, picked them up and again helped us load the project truck onto the trailer.

The only attempts you have made to get them is to demand I deliver them to your door. I feel like you have used us all - while making no attempt to help us out in our projects.

I don't care - it is a done deal now. There is no reason to keep scratching at the sore. It just makes things harder.

And no, no truce. Best we just ignore each other. I intend to.

The original plan was for me to swing by Mike's on the way up to Micke Grove. However, he sent me an email hours before I was to leave and stated he would not be there and that he could give them to Dan and have him deliver them to you.

I told you at the beginning I could go up and get the parts, but it would have to be after a payday. That never happened, you told me the best time to do it was weekends, and I work weekends. Same with the project truck. Everything is always set for the weekends. I can't keep taking weekends off, I don't have the vacation time available to do that.

Nowhere in the guidelines does it say members have to work on the project truck. I chose not to because I know my schedule is different from everyone else's and it would be hard to participate. Think what you want, I don't care. I have already apologized for the last remark which set you off, and I extended the olive branch. You refused to accept it, so be it. I will not lose any sleep over this.

This subject is closed as far as I am concerned. Whoever is moderating, go ahead and close this thread.

Jim, my cougar was most definately, without any question, soley towed by not one, but TWO Ford Trucks. The first truck in her life to yank her around, was a 74 Highboy. Then, she was pulled over the hills by an 05 F350. You saw it for yourself. You know it was Ford related.
Okay, I'll add in the LOL for the sake of levity... I'm joking here guys...

Oh BTW, I thought it was already yanked out of the buy/sell thread. If it is still there, you all can go ahead and pull it out now, (if it will keep the peace). I already sold that trailer. Sorry I didn't let you all know sooner. I was under the impression that it was yanked out a long time ago, based on some of the comments made at that time, waaay back then. Actually, I forgot all about that ad.

But for the record, whomever is responsible for it's longevity on the boards, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. The gesture was much appreciated. That is, if it was in fact a "gesture", and not an oversight. And, I will exercise more discression in the future, and only post Ford stuff in the buy/sell forum.

Sorry for any anxiety I may have created.

Now, back to business as usual. Fun and adventure on FTE.

At the time you posted it I checked with FTE admin - campers are OK to post if they might fit on or be pulled by a Ford. Mike sort of ragged you a bit over it, but that was in fun, or at least I took it that way.

There has been only one guy question its validity, and he should have done so privately and not made a board issue of it.

But lets do clean out the dead wood - say anyone from post 2 to post 30 that still has something for sale should repost the ad. Next week I will ask Dan to remove all posts between #2 up to and including #30.

Post 31 forward will remain.

This work for you guys?

Clint
