see if any of your local Discount Tire store have any H2 takeoffs
i have scored two sest of 315x70R17 BFG AT KOs
you would need to get new 17" rims, if you are still on 16 stock rims
I got my first set(4) for $200, this next set, $200 for (5) with only 1-5K miles on them
good luck!
Im running 285/75r16 BFG All-Terrain Ko's on my truck, I have also had them on a 99 Chevy Suburban K2500 with A 7.4l They are an awesome tire! I havent had any problems and they have good tread wear.
i acutally just ordered a set of Procomp rims, the 7089 series in 17x8's. there are not to many hummers around here, and unfortunately 315's would rub with my plow on.
I've been through a couple of sets of BFG, AT's on my big Bronco...good hwy tire, and 'OK' off road, but just marginal on beach sand...I'll go with ProComp's XAT's next time...
I had 16 inch Nitto AT's on my F-350 till I got the camper and needed more weight carrying capacity, so I went with the 18 inch ProComp XAT's...
The ProComp's are quiet on the hwy, and have worked great in beach sand with that big footprint, almost 12 inches wide! I haven't yet tried them in snow, mud, or any really rough 'marbles' off road, so can't give a report there yet - maybe in a couple of months...
I can't believe how much better the truck handles with the new 18 inch rubber, over the old 16 inch Nitto's! With the big high camper load, the 18's with the smaller sidewalls have given the rig so much more stability, I can't really believe it - it's almost like having duals in the back!
I guess it just comes down to what kind of roads and loads you run most of the time...
I have ran nothin but BFG AT KO's and had no probs. Im thinkin of switchin to the new Toyo Mud-terrain for my next set. They're both a great tire in my opinion.
I just replaced my BFG's. I loved them but wanted an change "I only buy American" BFG's I went with the Goodyear Duratracs. So far, I like them better than the BFG's. 315X70R17 with 17X9 4.75 BS with very minor trimming to FX4 Plastic
I was recently looking for new tires. I have had a couple sets of the BFG at's on a couple vehicles for years. I wanted to try something new and was debating between wrangler duratracs and hankook dynapros. Went with a set of Hankook Dynapro a/t, 285/75/16E and been fairly happy with them. I'll try the Duratracs next.
ive been running toyos on my chevy for years....great tire...no wear issues and long life...i normally get 70 to 80K on them and could get more but usually change out at about 30%. im running michelins on my F250....great tire but be ready to shell out serious cash...
i better check mine to see where they asre made. i like to stick with american made products whenever possible. tho its getting hard to do. thanks for the tip!
