Hello gang. My passenger side power window will not go up now. I can hear the motor running when I hit the switch, but the window will not go up. I need some guidance on getting the door panel off and getting to the motor. I'm guessing the gears are shot. Thanks!
Start by disconnecting the battery, remove the window switch cover, next is the door handle cover, remove the screws at the bottom of the door, gently start prying around the door pannel to unhook the clips, make sure that you watch for other items that are atached to the pannel (speaker wires), remove the plastic weather sheet. Now you are on your own, sorry i can't help any further.
Well I was able to take a look today. The door panel came off easy. I noticed that there were 2 cables hanging loose that were part of the "pulley" mechanism of the motor. I assume these are attached to the window somehow. I removed the motor and noticed the cable had a bind in the motor. Looks like I'll have to get a new motor. Is there a schematic or instructions showing how these cables are attached to the window, etc?
I would check to see if the two ends of the cable go together or if they attach to the glass, I think (could be wrong) the cable system is a pull up, pull down type of unit. Should be able to tell when you get the replacement motor..Good luck
