Hi i know a bunch of you guys out there have done an fuel conversion to electric type... i was just wondering if the truck will run properly with the sensors unpluged on the fuel bowl??? that will now be removed...and is there anything else i should look out for when im doing the conversion... thanks alotTT!!!!
Installed the Beans system a month ago before pulling 5th wheel from TN to Yellowstone and back. No problems from lack of sensors or with the system. Just cap those extra wires as those sensors have no bearing on engine performance. You still need the wire harness that attaches to the stock fuel bowl as it does go to the IPR. Good luck.
no power gain unless you regulate it higher than stock, then you just get more throttle response. biggest reason for the electric conversions are to be able to run larger injectors.
im runnin a SD pump with AD's the stock pump couldnt keep up but the electric does just fine
bareback- I refuse to believe that a set of 120cc injects couldnt be ran by a stock pump that runs my 160cc injects and feeds more then a plenty of fuel to 'em. Do fill me in....
Steve AD's are 140cc but the big difference is the split shot. The mechanical pump pulsates fuel pressure any way and the split shots also cause alot of pulsations. SO the two pulsations combined are not a really good situation. The cali emissions trucks use a dampner to keep pressure constant. If you run an electric system the pulsations aren't a problem. Its on my short list of mods to do right now!
I had a guy tell me that the split shots wouldn't work in our PSD's. Something to do with the computer not being able to run them, meaning they need some special tunes. This obviously isnt true and Im gonna have to have a word with him. He owns a local diesel performance shop, hes aint OBS at times, he told me that these rigs couldn't hold up to more then 350 ponies. Maybe I should have Lukecline give him a call, lol. He told me that my numbers were great but the motor wouldn't be reliable. I think he was just talkin to talk
The short list is generally the one actually getting done. The short list is where mods go when they are upgraded from the wish list.
Thats it! Short list is the ones actually schedueled to be done, or atleast collecting parts to make it happen!
Steve that diesel guy don't know everything thats for sure! My truck runs great with split shot injector with single shot programming. When I finally get around to getting a better chip (not on my short list) I will be getting it burned for splits but until then its good to go!
yeah i had ad splits even with the fuel damper i was loosin pressure at wot, it was fine in the lower ranges but not at the top. all ya need is the programming to make them go
i had a 550rwhp motor that stayed togethor for 103,000miles and the only reason it came apart was a broke pushtube.
Very good Bareback! You give me inspiration, Muahahaha!
Im going down there to make a couple sets of dyno runs this week. I have to shut Lukecline up so I need to go down and get some paper on the numbers to post up for him on the 99+ 7.3 forum. Urrgghhhhh, He bushes my buttons, lol.
I was looking at Beans et up and the fuel pump they have in the kit is for the new 7.3. Will that pump work on our trucks and if it will does that eliminate the pulsating problem you talked about Tim. Thanks
