Trailer plug 4 way tap?

I need to purchase a new cover for my reciever and was thinking about buying one that lights up. I believe that these have the flat 4 prong connector.

Does someone make a harness that I could before the factory 7 prong connector that would have a 4 prong plug.

I know that I can plug a connector into the factory outlet that has the 4 prong connector. I don't want to do this and expose the plug to the elements 24/7.

Thanks in advance

Sentence is missing some words which make it hard for me to know exactly what you are looking to do. If you want to splice into the lines somehwere behind up under the truck, say, behind the hitch, then you can buy a 4-flat connector at Wal-Mart that has the wires ready to splice. That way it'd be hidden and out of the elements. You can splice right into the existing 4-flat.

Note to self, no more doing multiple things at the same time.

Sorry, I am wondering if anyone makes harness that I can plug into the existing one. I am afraid of splicing into the wires and possibly causing more issues.

Thanks for your help and attempt to interpret my post

yea virtually any auto parts house or even Wally World has the adapters. My Ex has both from the factory ( round 7 and flat 4 ) yours doesn't?

Mine does not have both the 7 and 4.

I don't want to plug a 7 to 4 adapter into the plug and have that opened up to 24/7 elements . . .

Interesting that newer Ex's have both connectors. I am going to have to see if there is a way to get that part of the Ford harness to get both connectors.

I'm sure you could get one off an Excursion or F250/350 in a salvage yard.
