will a 92-96 front clip bolt up to a 82-86 body style ??? ... i bought a bronco , and the front is damaged , so i thought i would just put a newer clip on it ...
I think you're better with the original...I think the 80-86 nose doesn't look as wide from the front, and your wheel wells won't match if you go to the newer clip
It'll fit, but your fender lines wont match. You could always change the rear quarter panels too, but it's a little harder than swapping the bed of a truck. It will probably be cheaper to put an older front clip back on too.
it will bolt right up, but... the radiators from 85 and up have the lower mounts on the side of radiator where the older ones sit right on the bottom of the radiator support on rubber pads. you can make it work by either using the newer radiator, or removing the side perches so your old radiator can sit on the bottom. the other obstacle is the 92-96 front bumper wraps around and because of that the front lower corners of the fenders are clipped. if you put the new clip and keep your straight bumper the front fenders will look funny. you will have to do some cutting and fabricating to put the wrap around bumper on the 80-86 frame as the mounts are nothing alike. i actually did just the opposite and mounted my 83 front clip onto a 95 frame and cab. i had to cut the front fenders to accept the wraparound bumper (it was easier than trying to mount my 83 bumper to the 95 frame and looks cool) one day i'll get some pics on here of it, you have to really know your ford trucks to notice what i did.
