I know that there are 3 choice of hpop like 13, 15, 17 i think and the 17 is the one you want but how do you tell what you have and where to get a 17 and how to identify the 17?
Any help is greatly appreciated
thanks Billy
When you order a hpop tell them you want one for a 2002 psd, that will help ensure that you get a later model pump. Some of the 17* pumps have the flat back cover so dont be discouraged if you get one without a humped cover.
Billy 2001 on had the 17* pump, you could say by the back on the pump which one is it, its not the case anymore, just order one for 2001 up, but like lukecline said order one for 2002 ad you get 17* pump 100%
and whats the problem with yours? what year is your truck
well i have an 01 the build date is 3/01 i havent looked to see if i can tell if i have the 17 but it feel like my truck really falls off on the top end and i am getting the 1211 code almost every time i get on it real hard in the 100 setting on the chip and if it is in the 140 it feels like it just falls right on its face.
how many miles you have on your truck, and do you have any mods done beyound the chip
i have 2001 and im sure you have 17* pump, im running stage 3 inj on stock pump and runs fine, no SES so far, and i got on it few times,
check this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ighlight=p1211
well i have got just over 136k on her now do you think that the hpop could be worn out. I have the banks six gun tuner staked with the ts per. chip, 4" straight piped, afe stage II stock injectors just got the WW yesterday waiting for a good day to install and my pedestal o rings are leaking and i have got everything rounded up to do the ccv so ill kill three birds with one stone.
its weak for sure, and you have stacked 2 tuners, take one of them out and see if youget the code, check for oil leaks on HPOP and ICP, IPR, and fix pedestal O rings,
would it be better to buy a new hpop from the stealer or is there a better (cheaper) place to get one. Or would it be a good time to go to the dual hpop or would that be useless in my application?
Dont replace your pump just yet..Get a scanner on there and see what you for putting out, then decide from there, If its weak(and you have to do some troubleshooting first, because you can have an injector dumping, IPR stuck, even a minor leak will get you a power loss.) Then and only then do the pump, And be farwarned, just because its a rebuilt, doesn't mean you will get more pressure, MOST LIKELY you will have less pressure then your original, I usually wont replace them unless I have driveability problems, like stalling and weird idle.. Good luck.
My 15* had a flat cover...My 17 has a flat cover, so i guess you just gotta guess if its 15 or 17 lol. What truck had a 13* pump?
You want to look at ICP and ICP duty cycle on a scan tool. First thing disconnect that banks six gun, it will miss with your injection pressure reading! The way i tested HPOP pressure was I would start at 0 and go up to i think 95 mph and just kept my foot to the floor, and would not let up until i hit 95. 2400PSI on up is good, under you might want to start looking.
