You might also think about adding a power converter. I installed one of these in an old school bus that we turned into a party bus. It can supply power, charge your battery, and if you get the charge wizard you can leave it plugged in and it will keep your battery charged and in good shape.

Try a Battery Tender Plus. The 2 lights tell you the condition of the battery better than most. They can indicate less than 80% charge, 80-100 % or full charge and come with nice connectors.

Your remote start/alarm system is it made by "Compustar"?

Mine is made by Directed Electronics....looks as though all of them could possibly do this...this is good for all of us to know.

If it was me i would throw a spare relay in the glove box so that if it quits out on the road i can get it quickly fixed.
