Just installed my Autometer gauges yesterday and am very happy with the look and the way they work. I do have one question I hope someone can help me with. My boost gauge starts to flutter above 15psi. Has anyone had this happen and how do you fix it? I have it T'd off the map line. Does it matter if it is closer to the Y pipe or the map sensor? and would it matter what port of the T it is hooked to?
I don't have mine yet but I am ordering it now and can't decide which one to get. That is why I can't help you. Sorry. I was just wondering which one you got since you are happy with it?
I got the Autometer Procomp gauges. They look pretty good with the grey interior. They were pretty easy to install. Some people prefer the black face gauges to match the factory gauges but I like the silver faced gauges since the interior is grey and they are mounted on the A pillar they seem to look pretty good.
Tisk*Tisk*Tisk- the Autometer problems just keep comin outta the wood work, lol
I think that every gauge see's some flutter off the map line. Re-check your lines and fittings, Teflon all connections and re-install. I used to have flutter in my boost gauge at anything over 20psi. I went through and put on all new boost line and fitting with new pharrells. Tefloned all connections, even the plastic "t" at the map line, thus far no flutter throughout the 0-40psi mark. Good luck
Thanks Steve. I can live with it for now. I checked all my connections and everything is good. I was just hoping someone had a cure for it. It isn't too bad until I really pour the coals to it then above @18psi it jumps around. So far it has done it all the way to 25psi. Other than that, no problems!
You guessed right. When I mod a truck there are certain things that I am and am not willing to wrench on and having to wrench on a stupid set of gauges is not something Im willing to. It sounds like a waste of time to me and a headache i dont need. i'd rather be wrenchin on my turbinator.
