I dont have anything that goes that new. There should be a metal tag under one if the bolts on the differential covers, (if they are still on there)it will tell you the ratio. You may have to use a wire brush on them to be able to see the numbers on them. The standard ratio is 3.54, thats more than likely what you have.

does anybody know axle codes?

Thank you .... Much appreciated.. If I go with a 32x11.50x15 should I drop down on gear ratios if equipped with the 3.54.'s or is that enough gear? I would also like tp put a power locker in front and back ...so I can have a real four wheel drive... ) Again thanks... Have a great day...

I also have an 89 Bronco XLT 4x4. On mine the rear end is an open dif. with 3.55 ratio and the front is a Dana 44 with 3.54 ratio. Superdave is correct with regards to location of ID tags on both the front and rear. If you write down the what the tags say, then call up a Ford dealership's parts department, they should have some documentation as to what the tags translate. That's what I did. I just pulled off my rear end to take up to shop tommorrow to be fully rebuilt. Putting in 4.10 gear ratio, Auburn Gear dif., and going from the drums to a rotor conversion on the rear end. I'm also going to be rebuilding the front diferential next with 4.10 gear ratio and Auburn dif.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

89bronco, The 3.54 ratio isn't to bad,(I find it to be a good compromise ratio) but with the 32's and the 302 engine you might notice a little loss of power. Unless you would be doing some serious wheeling I wouldn't worry about changing ratio's. The way I look at is you have always got "low range". That gear swapping can get into your billfold hard.

Thanks Dave.... I think I will keep the 3.54's for the time being and just put in a powerlocker or aubrun pro diff front and rear and step up to a better shock ; like a RS9000 or a Highjacker Nitro.. As for as tires I am thinking about Super Swamper Sx's ....32x11.5x15 .. What do you think? My friend is trying to talk me into Mickey Thompson Claws.. Again thanks....

89bronco, I am not familiar with the SuperSwampers you mention but I have seen some of the "Claws" around, they are a good looking tire. I would say they would have a lot of traction. Your differentials should be able to handle these tires, which by the way you should have an 8.8" rear differential and a Dana 44 TTB front diff. The TTB stands for twin traction beam. I don't know if you already knew this, so if you did sorry. The only problems I've had with the 8.8 is they tend to score the axle where the bearings ride on the shaft.
