Hi all, I own a 93 Bronco XLT. I have just popped off the back and got a convertible top for it. Now I want to get a lift and new tires. I have the stock suspension and 31x10.5s on now. I want to get a 4" lift and put some rough looking tires on it. It's mostly for show. I refuse to do serious off-roading in my Bronco. I don't want to bust anything. What is the best type of lift for it, body or suspension and how much would it cost at a garage. I don't know enough to do it myself.
I just finished last night installing a 6" Superlift suspension with extended radius arms, rear springs and Rancho 9000's on the 83 Bronco XLT. The kit cost me over 1700 bucks and I installed it myself. It took me about a week to do the job because all I have are hand tools. I would venture to say the a shop would charge anywhere from 6 to 8 hundred. Good luck.

not about the lift, sorry, but just wanted to know where you got your conv. top from and how much it costs? I am planning on getting one sometime next summer (not going to do it this year because I have to do a little body work first.) Thanks for the info though.

I don't know how much you plan on spending, but I had my complete suspension lift, tires and shocks installed for $2700 (plus a set of nerf bars and a auto-manual hub conversion). The lift was $1550.00 installed and it included rear springs. I was amazed at the low labor cost, but they do it a lot. I highly recommend the Skyjacker kit. The 4" is about $250 less then what I paid (with new rear springs) and about $450.00 less with blocks. Get the springs, though. Also, it is worth the extra $180.00 to upgrade the Skyjacker shocks (the Class II Kit comes with new shocks) to the Rancho RS-9000s. I took a trip from VA to FL with them on setting 1 and it was like driving a car. I've used them off road on higher setting and they perform awesome.
I have a 1991 Bronco and just last week finally got to do some serious modifications - a 4" lift kit and new tires and wheels. I went with the Superlift 4" suspension kit. I too will do very little if any off roading. The kit came with everything needed except for the shocks. I decided on getting 6 Rancho 5000 shocks.
I bought Eagle Racing 15x10 wheels. I mounted 35" Goodyear MT/R tires. These tires are awesome. They look unbelievable agressive and there is very little road noise.
I had my buddy who manages a service shop install the lift.
I hope to have some pics of the before and after Bronco available soon.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Get 5 or 6 cement bricks and shove them between the frame and body. That'll do what you're wanting done. Suspension lifts are for people that use their trucks to their fullest potential.

That is the most rediculous thing I have heard. Dont listen to that. If your gonna take that approach get a body lift. Thats what im gonna do to mine. 3 inch body lift and some 33 inch BFG mt. Body lift will only cost at the most 120 bucks. There's my input...
