Check Engine Light-code 1396

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">I would appreciate advice regarding the list attached to a recent scan that suggest possible reasons why my CHECK ENGINE light is illuminated.
The list of POSSIBILITIES, (for the code 1396), is:
Faulty glow plug relay
Faulty glow plug shunt
Open in glo plug circuit
Faulty glow plug
Faulty power train control module
My 1997 7.3 powerstroke with 165,000 miles seems to be running just fine.
Please, if you could offer some sound advice so I can do the right thing.

Is the Check engine light illuminating?
Those may be old codes that were not cleared after a repair. If the truck is running OK don't worry about it.

Pull #9 fuse under the hood. This should reset the codes. IF not disconnect the batteries for 30 minutes or so.
