I have a '90 F150 I6. The truck has recently been stalling on me. It will start up fine and drive for a few minutes and then act like its not getting fuel and start running rough then stall. I'll have to crank it for a while but It has always started again. Then It will run fine for another few miles and eventually stall again. I've replaced the fuel filter and inspected the throttle boday and IAC for buildup. The fuel pumps sound like they are working fine, but I dont know that for sure (I think I'm just hoping its not the fuel pump). Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.
I had a similar problem once, the pump would run for a few minutes and get hot. Once the pump was hot it didn't produce enough pressure. A Pressure test should confirm the intake pump is failing.
Otherwise, it sounds like the engine is going into closed loop and shutting down. Just because the IAC looks fairly clean, it still could be sticky. Take it off and shoot it with penatrating oil and work it back and forth alittle.
