I am trying to get a new cps for my 99.5 f250 and I noticed that there is an updated version of the cps that is gray and the part number ends in B instead of A. Anyone know anything about this?
I have my new one, not yet installed. A buddy of mine installed his new grey one this weekend and says his truck runs like a top. He was having PS trouble, and the new one took care of it.

dfuser is also selling them, delivered for $25.
PS Trouble? How are we defining PS trouble? If the CPS was at fault, it would fix it. However, what I would be ineterested to know is whether the grey CPS will make the truck run better than the Black one assuming both are good. I'd settle for making it run as good if the durability of the part were there. What good is a $25 part if you have to replace it 4 times a year? I'd rather get the $100 part from IH and replace it once every few years.
My bad... fat fingers.... it was supposed to be "CPS trouble". His truck was romping on startup, hiccoughing and skipping irregularly, dropping out and almost stalling at times, etc... the new CPS took care of everything he was complaining about.
As far as durability, no one knows yet. The new CPS is supposed ot have a wider signal pickup range, which would make you think that there would be more tolerance built into its sensitivity... ie... might run longer between failures?? On the other hand, is it going to screw with the engine timing because it picks up the signal more easily?? So far, I haven't heard of anyone complaining about a decline in running performance after installing the new one.
Well, I talked to Diane and she said that when they get the equipment moved, Jody will do some testing on the new CPS since that is going to be a standard that his tunes will have to work on
The new one is supposed to have a stronger magnet so it is not as sensitive to clearance issues and have improved circuitry that withstands the harsh environment better than the A.

Wasn't that what the blue (DT466) one was supposed to do? They improved it and it is selling way cheaper. Maybe. Or maybe they are having some junk made for a low price. Time will tell.

Well the blue is for the DT466 so they will still be selling that application for their regular price. I havent heard if IH is also getting the new CPS for their T444E application.
From what I have learned it basically is the magnet from the 466 CPS with an improved circuit board to last longer.
