Running my truck up maybe a pretty constant 6% grade for a good 10 miles My Egt's will reach 1,200 and stay there. This is unloaded and running both the 80 econo and 60 tow setting. I shouldnt have no boost leaks i just replaced all my boots with dieselsite boots and they are double clamped. My question is how can I bring this temp down beside shifting it into stock. this is going anywhere from 45-60mph ambient air timp 80 to 90 degree. From what I have read an inner cooler dont help unless towing. Anything i can do? Im not sure how and inner cooler works so this may be a stupid question but could changing anti freeze drop the temps?

Some people have said that doing the CCV mod could help in cooling the temps. The hot oil gases that put in the intake and now elimated. I will be doing this mod very soon. I hope it helps me. I am seeing about the same thing as you.
CCV will do nothing directly for EGT's... It will keep the oil vapors out of the IC which can over time coat the inside of the IC. There is nothing wrong with 1200 for miles. Are you in OD? If so kick it out and temps should drop 200 or more. There are lots of options... What are you wanting to do? Spend?
I was wondering about this as well, in fact I just signed on to post a likewise question. Actually I was wondering if a swap to the 6.0 Intercooler was that benificial? I have a 01 psd swb 4x4 5" exhaust, juice w/ attitude etc. I see egts around 1100-1200 when towing my 9000 lb travel trailer in the southern heat(this past weekend 90+) up hills. Any help ??
I thought upgrading to a Spearco intercooler(or equivalent) would help drop temperatures all around? I think just the 6oh intercooler only showed a drop while towing.

Not that much but if it will save engine its worth it. I looked at sperco inner coolers but that is definetly out of my price range so i was hoping for something simple and cheap. I dont ever tow except a sportsman in the bed.
