I did a search for this topic but when i do all i can come up with posts about a rough running truck.
I was wondering if anyone has the rough idle tune on their dp tuner and how rough is it? Also how high is the high idle? and the last question while i'm on the tuner subject If i would purchase a tuner from dp, would i be able to send it back to have another tune burnt to it after i have already ran it for a while and changed somthing else and wanted more?
It is call the lope idle tune. I have it. It is a pretty cool tune. The truck will act as if it has a big cam in it like a gasser. It is more of a ROMP ROMP ROMP sound. My truck will actually shake back and forth. Jody creates these tunes using the 120 race tune. It is driving the lope just disappears after you hit the pedal. Hope this helps.
it does help, i was just wondering if it was noticable or if it was somthing that you have to listen for to realize it was different. I LOVE big cams in gassers, and thought it would be cool to have when i show up at the lake with my boat with a cam in it to have the truck sound the same lol.
It is just another fun tune. Yes, you can use it with the stock injectors, but you wont be able to get the large amount of smoke like you see with other diesel. Our stock HPOP and injectors cant support the fuel demands needed for a total black out. However, it is still practical for filling a ricers window with a blast fresh burnt diesel.
I have the lope idle and it is fine if your setting still or maybe cruising a parking lot but I have found it unusable driving down the road. The 120 tune it is attatched to makes it kinda jerky on the road. If you even breathe on the go pedal it goes, and if you let off, it slows down. The tourque converter locks up pretty quickly and it is like driving a stick. Even with the cruise on, it is jerky and if you are on a bumpy road or trying to hold it steady, it may still jerk you around. Just my opinion...I only use it setting still now.
