When I first saw this video on the news, I didn't realize he was a WWII vet. Call it my speedy clicker finger I guess. When I saw this again, I have to tell you, I had tears in my eyes. I have a soft spot in my heart for vets. They have done things for us that most others haven't. Made this country what it is today. Given me (us) freedoms that many others do not have. To see some punk a** kid attack him like that just kills me. Guarrenteed any of us on this site would have stopped to help. I wouldn't mind the extra five or six dents in my truck. Needs washed anyway...I hope they all get prison time. I bet once the other prisoners find out this punk beat up a 90 year old vet, he'll be welcomed with a special prisoners welcome. The girl needs to go to as do the others that were just watching, especially if they were all part of the same bunch. Pretty darn sickening what goes on in the world. But I can only change my little piece of it. If I see anything like this happening, I'm in. My car has a baseball bat in the trunk. The truck usually has a shovel in the back, and I can usually acquire a good target lock with the motorcycle for a run down.
In Quebec you MUST help someone. Stop the fight, call for help, call the police. You have to do something.
Every human being whose life is in peril has a right to assistance.
Aiding person whose life is in peril.
Every person must come to the aid of anyone whose life is in peril, either personally or calling for aid, by giving him the necessary and immediate physical assistance, unless it involves danger to himself or a third person, or he has another valid reason.
In America and English Canada it works the other way around. You don't have to do anything. The good samaritan law only protects you from being sued in the event you're helping someone and something goes wrong.
