I tip my hat to you sir,and would like to say thank you for being there when you get called out.And you are right, this system we have stinks. We need to change the way these idiots are able to make bail. And to change the way things are done in the court room.I could care less about any sob story he may come up with as an excuse for what he did.Striking an old person like that should be at least a 5yr MANDITORY sentence.PERIOD!

They make you show up on your day off to see the judge over the dirtbags you cuff up and bring in? Or am I reading this post wrong?

BTW, I didn't (on purpose) view that video. It's more than I can take to see that stuff and know that he got off with a slap on the wrist.

Anyone remember the movie "The Star Chamber"?

Kind of fitting.

Are you kidding me Dan? This is almost so annoying that I don't want to arrest someone. The judges here have threatened to hold us in contempt and make us pay court costs if we do not show.

There is this thing called a 10 day rule where if they cannot make bail they get a mandatory hearing and if I am not there, there's hell to pay. Never mind that I have proven the arrest was sound and there is probable cause to book them into jail before a magistrate.

In the last three weeks, I have been to court 4 times on my day off. Yeah, I get paid but it is straight pay, not overtime. Screw that, I'd rather be off.

It is not the people that are letting these people back on the street, it is the justice system. The justice system as gotten weak, and given the power to the crook. Long ago, street justice would prevail. You cannot even protect yourself anymore because, you will be in trouble if you hurt your attacker. Something is very wrong here, and it better turn around, or we will be in big trouble.

I couldn't agree more. I am not one of those hardnose Richard Head cops but I am fed up with the system too. We need to be willing to pay to lock bad people up. Unfortunately it is too expensive. That is why they keep coming back.

Try being on the front end of that talking to a victim who cannot understand why John Q. Badguy was out and did whatever.

No sir, I am not kidding, asking a serious question.
Very sorry to hear of that situation, it has to be frustrating.

A side note: my stepdaughter, whom I am very proud of, works for Kent, WA. Valleycom as a dispatcher.

There is good news, there are plenty of folks like me that keep at it despite the pitfalls. We see these folks all the time and try our best to put them away. That's what we get paid for.

Very short read.

man thats messed up. People are worthless just standing there, no one wants to get sued.

When i was in high school I walked out in the parking lot after school to witness my best friend laying on the ground getting the crap kicked out of him by two guys. People were standing around, worthlessly. I ran over as fast as could just as one of the guys was leaning down to take a punch, i kicked him square in forehead as hard as i could, he was out. The other guy took off running. I grabbed my buddy and got him drug down to the nurses office. The school officer filed a report with the police station, my buddy and i were arrested. Nothing ever happened to the two guys that jumped him, no one ever brought forward any names, and the parking lot cameras didn't cover that corner of the lot. My friend got arrested for being beat up and i got arrested for saving him, good to see where the priorities are. To this do i carry a pickax handle, and a piece of rusty exhaust pipe behind my seat. If i ever see one of them guys again I'm liable to beat the crap out of them and run away, just like they did. May they thank god i dont carry my 870 in the truck.

The only way for one to get justice is to carry it out themselves.

It'snot "the people" who allow it. It's the ACLU and the liberal courts. They are successfully destroying everything that is right and good.

I, like most of you, watched that video and if I were to have been driving by or seen it, I'd have come unglued on that freak of nature. Then I'd have started screaming at those other idiots standing there just watching.

It's been proven time and again, that these freaks nowdays, have no sense of right or wrong and it's all MINE and to HELL with you! You owe me! ME! ME! ME!

I owe him alright... we all do.... we owe him death in the electric chair with a DRY topper, like on the Green Mile.

That boy needs to suffer. Not that he won't when he comes before his Maker. I, may/probably will, regret my anger when it is my judgement day. But there are some feelings that you just cannot help when seeing brutality such as this.

the old timer was on the news this morning, shows you what class he has,
he basically had the message to the punk, "told him to go to school and get an education", and stated he should be charged with attempted murder.(agree)

i am more upset at what the by standers did than what this punk did. the punk willget his justice by the means of an A** greeting in jail, hopefully.

as for the bystanders, what ever the conversation they were having, in gods eye had better be more important than helping ths man.
and if karma has anything to do with it, they better hope they dont find themselves in the same boat, because they deserve the same treatment.

I must disagree......This government belongs to us. THEY WORK FOR US. Democracy is not a spectator sport. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans are lazy when it comes to getting involved. If seeing stuff like this like this pisses you off, GOOD!!!! "bout time...Get involved. Write and call your elected officials, tell your friends and family to do the same. Stand up and do what you know is right.
