Hey, Im a lucky one to get a bronco with the ABS light on and the cruise control not working. Heres what i tested so far. I checked all the relays and fuses, everythings good. Hooked it up to a ABS scanner and it had no codes. I checked the Front wheel speed sensors with a DOVM and they have resistance, I checked the back one on the axle and it does not have resistance. I think i pointed out my problem but will that cause the Speed control to not work. With what ive heard about this problem i think its why my ABS light is on and my cruise dont work. Do you think that im on the rite track?

It may be why your light is on, but I dont think it affects the cruise. My light has been on for a long time. Cruise works good. I believe the cruise works off the speedometer. Yours is newer than mine, though. it could have changed
The cruise, abs and speedo all rely on the VCC sensor on the back axle. If this is bad then that would explain your issue. Does your speedo work? Is yours and AUTO with E40D, if so then you don't have a mechanical speedo like the earlier (80s) ones.
Mine plays up when its really wet - I suspect the connector seal is breaking down.
I can send the troubleshooting tables if you wish - PM me with a real email address.
However if you had no codes from the ABS then this is where my argument breaks down. If I remember right code 9 is a duff VCC. The Cruise also relies on a good vacuum too so maybe check that too.
Furthermore, there are two connectors under the glove box which could be mistaken as the ABS diags port, the other is to reprogram the PSOM for new tyres sizes etc. You'll need to short the one closest to the door to activate the ABS test if I remember right. Its a pain cos on my 92 they are not the wire color that the book quotes.
Im very sorry for not replying but ive been rly busy, and sorry for bringing this back up. I checked my sensor on the back axle, and no resistance. So i replaced it. Still no cruise and the ABS light is on. I took it to my school. Hooked up a Genisis scanner to the ABS system and no codes. Hooked it the the EEC and no codes. I havent really looked at it since then with being busy. I have some other issues to tackle with a boat i bought and after i get that straightened out i will be back on the bronco and figuring everything out. I still havent put a tune up on it since i bought it. I will pm u with the address. That will hellp thankyou!
1991 was the last year of the speedo cable driven speedometer and the 92 and later are electronic sensors. So the question is do you have a working speedometer considering the above information. It is all dependant on the year of your truck.
I had a similar problem on by 93 5.8 w/E4OD. I'm not sure about the sensors, the 93 has the rear ABS sensor thats also used by the PSOM for speedometer. I have done the PSOM procedure for different sized tires.
I'm going from memory, but if needed, I can dig out my EVTM for wiring info. There are actually 2 devices/sensors/switches that are in the operate path of the cruise control. Both have to do with brake application to deactivate the CC. Mine was a standard pressure sensor that was on a "T" in the brake line on the drivers side down near the frame close to the exaust manifold. It was a little hard to spot at just a glance.
The plastic part where the wires attach had apparently disintegrated, possibly from the head of the manifold and the wire posts w/wires attached were actually loose but not entirely pulled away. As I recall, they were a 12V supply that also fed to the CC and had to be connected for the CC to work. There is also another switch that controls the CC, I think it is the brake pedal disconnect switch-----will have to look it up to be sure.
Anyway, a cheap pressure switch (first one I mentioned) fixed my problem.
