Has anyone else had their windshield crack? Just off center to the left of the passenger. Had the Ford dealer look at it and he said a rock hit it, I said show me where, but their was no mark! Then he finds out I have 16K miles on it(in 10 months) and says it doesn't matter because it isn't covered anymore and walks off. Now the crack runs top to bottom, do you think Ford will support this bung hole!?
Not sure, but if not, your comprehensive insurance should cover it, and it may even work out where there is no deductible. I had one replaced about 2 weeks ago on another vehicle, much like yours, no trace of a rock hit. Called my insurance company they contacted a glass replacement firm, made an appointment, they came to the house and replaced it under an hour, no deductible or $$ out of my pocket. Since it's comprehensive no increase in premium.
You should see about talking to a 'higher up' at the dealership, to make sure they know you dont feel you have been treated right. I would NEVER accept a dealer's employee straight up walking away from me. I think Kevin covered everything else. My buddies Tundra has chewed through a few windshields. They all crack in the same place.... I think he is on #3 now. I just sit back and laugh (because he traded his F250 in for it).
If it is hot out and your windows are up, don't spray off your truck. Thats when mine went from 6in to all the way up! It was around noon time and was probably close to 80 degrees out!
I just read your advice on not spraying the truck. To bad i read it tonight after washing my truck this afternoon and the crack went up about another 12 in. thanks for the heads up.
