Fuel Filter Question

Got a question about changing out the stock fuel filter. Have always changed every 15k, But now I have a pre pump filter. So do I still need to change the stock one at same intervells or just change the pre pump one every 15k. I know they will both be dirty since I changed them 5k ago cause I have been running BIO-DIESEL. And that really cleans up the tank and lines. Thanks ahead for any input. LPR

Ron,

It would depend on what the micron filtration rating of the pre-pump filter is.

My Dahl uses 2-micron filters, so the stock one, at about 15 microns, doesn't have much to filter out at all. I suspect it will last a long time as a result.

What are you using pre-pump?

Hey Pop,
I am also running a 2 micron ilter prepump so figure I'll change both at 10k then just the pre every 15k. and the stock every 30k or so. I'm running a Rayco system I believe. Not here with me in Arizona right now and my brain isn't thinking right now. Thanks LPR
PS: how often are you changing yours?
